We’ve passed another milestone! Dr. Richard Carlin has now completed over 3,000 procedures since we began performing Lasik in our office. Overall, he has performed more than 4,500 procedures after introducing Laser Vision Correction to his patients at an outside facility in Buckhead in 1997.

A recent review of over 3,000 peer-reviewed global scientific articles found that 95.4% of Lasik patients were satisfied with their vision and 95% would recommend Lasik to a friend or would elect to undergo the procedure again. More than 95.2% of patients having Lasik in the United States were satisfied with their post-operative results and the total range of satisfaction rates in individual studies was 87.2% to 100%. An Unsuccessful Ophthalmologist E-mail
ImageAs a medical student Arthur was amazed by his professor Dr. Joseph Bell. A superb diagnostician, he would pick a stranger out of a crowd and deduce his/her occupation, recent activities, medical complaints and even diagnoses. He would then explain how careful observations allowed him to draw such conclusions. After graduation, Arthur went on specialize in Ophthalmology, but alas, had few patients, was a mediocre surgeon and by his own admission — an utter failure! Turning to his other passion, writing, he fashioned his central character after his mentor, Dr. Bell. Thus, Arthur Conan Doyle gave his creation to the world . . . Sherlock Holmes! What a loss it would have been for the literary world if Dr. Doyle had been blessed with a successful Ophthalmology practice!
