 The difference is amazing – incredible!!! When I saw the “before and after” pictures of my Blepharoplasty surgery, I was surprised at my emotional response. It literally brought tears when I realized that I was seeing my own eyes again for the first time in years, plus my vision was much improved! Truly, I do look younger and happier.
Before the surgery I appeared to be mad and scowling. Dr. David Carlin and his staff are a first-class operation. Their focus is on total customer satisfaction and they do that very well. Dr. Carlin was very mindful of my comfort during the procedure. I must say that I did NOT feel pain during or after the operation. Dr. Carlin was so very considerate of me and asked many times if I hurt in any way. Truthfully, I did not. It was obvious that the success of my procedure mattered to him. For 6 weeks he carefully monitored the healing process.

As I left my 6 month appointment today, I thought about how scared I was prior to my CustomVue procedure and how I had delayed it for over a year prior to actually getting enough courage to go through with it. The staff at CarlinVision are awesome and have always made me feel comfortable and confident in any procedures that deemed necessary. I don't know where to even start talking about Dr. Richard Carlin. His patient care far surpasses other physicians I have come in contact with. He always makes me feel special and provides me with his overall attention. Even when I got scared during my procedure, he never was disturbed. I moved to Lake Oconee five years ago but I have continued to come back to CarlinVision for my eye care because of their knowledge, excellent service and professionalism.
I have monovision and I have worn a contact in one eye for about 25 years. I recently learned about Refractive Lens Exchange. I decided to have the lens exchange and eliminate the need for the contact. As with any eye surgery there is some anxiety and Dr. Richard Carlin explained everything in detail and I felt confident with him.
The procedure and recovery went smoothly. I now have better than 20/20 vision and I couldn’t be happier with the results. It feels great to be able to read without contacts or glasses and I highly recommend this procedure.

My wife Jan and I have been patients of yours for the past five years. Very normal routine visits annually until the October visit of 2006. Thinking I needed a new contact prescription, Dr. David Carlin informed me I had cataracts in both eyes. Dr. Carlin handled my "panic" state of mind and ran the 3 hour gauntlet of tests that day. I was shaking like a leaf through those tests and you and your staff helped me through it to no avail on my behalf. You and your staff were so patient-oriented, that you had me and my wife to come in for after hour appointments so I wasn't so nervous. It took several times to get the tests right. I appreciate the professionalism and personal dedication to making sure you and your staff got the correct measurements for the cataract surgery. You and your staff went well beyond our nervous anxieties to calm us down. I told my wife, you can cut off my leg, but I can't go blind. Again, you and the staff held our hands throughout the whole process.
That goes even further to the night before the 1st eye lens implant surgery. I'm 48 years young and can't remember when my doctor called me on a Sunday night at 7:00 p.m. to ask me if I was OK for the next day morning surgery. I consider that a "friend" and a doctor. That is rare in this day and time.
The surgery went great and you were there from beginning to end. It sure was nice the following day when my right eye went from 20/200 to 20/20. NO WORDS CAN DESCRIBE IT. You opened up my world to see. IT WAS A LIFE CHANGING MOMENT AND STILL CONTINUES.
One month later, you did the left one. Same result. My testimonial may not be as elaborate with the left one because you and your staff gave us confidence and peace of mind. Now, I will never worry about cataracts, contacts, reading glasses or glasses PERIOD! Final say . . . my wife and I just came back from vacation down at the Florida Gulf and never saw the ocean and dolphins so beautiful before.

 I’ve had glasses since I was 6 years old. I was almost legally blind when Dr. Carlin proposed lasik surgery. I was a little skeptical because having anything done to my eyes scared me.
I finally made the decision when I could not tell my husband apart from all the other men in the grocery store, standing just a few feet away. So I had lasik done.

For years I have said that if there was anything that I could do to myself, it would be to have my eyes tightened up. When your staff conducted the test to see if there was vision obstruction and they taped my eyes up to see the difference. I was shocked. I could have gone the rest of my life like that.
I was so nervous going into surgery and you and your assistants made me so comfortable that I just can’t believe I got through the whole procedure. There was no pain whatsoever. Your professionalism shined and I thank you so much for that. After the surgery I had no idea what to expect. I understand how each person is different and the healing process is so unpredictable. However, when I had a question you were right there to answer it and that was very helpful to me. The greatest part is I can see so much more. I have more light coming into my eyes, I have a broader base of vision and I don’t have to strain so much to see everything. I have smooth under eyes now also. How beautiful that makes me feel. My eyes were -11.25 and -8.5 diopters before I had the Phakic Intraocular Lens Implantation. I wasn’t a great candidate for Lasik because of my degree of nearsightedness. Since the surgery, I see just fine without glasses or contacts of any kind. The recovery was smoother than I thought it would be and I was able to drive myself to work the next day. My vision improved immediately after the surgery. I have had no complications or side effects whatsoever. Everyone at Carlinvision was friendly and helpful and concerned with my well being. Dr. Carlin was great and I would recommend this surgery to absolutely anyone as ‘blind’ as I was.
