Ptosis, pre-operative

Sometimes one eyelid is lower than the other or even both eyelids can appear droopy. Not to be confused with excess skin, the lid itself is actually lower than it should be. This gives the appearance of being sleepy or tired and may even interfere with your vision. The condition can begin at birth (congenital) or appear later. The cause can usually be determined by our in-office evaluation.

Ptosis, post-operative

There are a variety of procedures to correct ptosis, and the one appropriate for you will be discussed during the evaluation. The procedure is done in the office using only a local anesthetic. It generally takes 20-40 minutes, after which the eye is patched shut for several hours. The post-operative discomfort is minimal.

Your insurance will generally pay for Ptosis procedures if they interfer with your vision.
