Standard Package

Best option for the individual who does not mind wearing glasses for distance and for near after cataract surgery.

Pre-operative testing includes:

  • Measurements of the curvature and length of the eye

Surgical procedure includes:

  • Insertion of a standard lens implant

Post-operative care includes:

  • Prescription for eye glasses

The cataract procedure and one pair of eyeglasses is a covered service under most insurance plans.

Advanced Refractive Package

Best option for the individual who like to achieve his/her best distant vision without glasses but would be willing to wear reading glasses OR for the individual who would like monovision correction (one eye focused for distance and the other for near).

Pre-operative testing includes:

  • Measurement of the curvature and length of the eye
  • Measure of the shape and thickness of the cornea
  • Measurement of the size of the pupil in normal and dim light
  • Wavescan evaluation with calculation of the eye’s higher order abberations as needed
  • Tests to determine the eye’s tear production

Surgical procedure includes:

  • Insertion of a standard, aspheric or toric (astigmatism correcting) lens implant
  • Astigmatism correction procedure(s) if appropriate

Post-operative care includes:

  • Temporary punctual plugs (for dry eyes)
  • Further astigmatism correction procedure(s) if appropriate
  • Laser vision correction (Lasik or PRK) as needed. Lasik enhancements are included for a period of 12 months following cataract surgery.

Best option for the individual who would like to be able to see distance and near without glasses after cataract surgery.
