Why is There a Wait Time at the Doctor’s Office?

At CarlinVision we try very hard to schedule patients in a timely fashion so the wait time at the doctor’s office is minimal. Unfortunately, the truth is that there are many variables that may be beyond our control when they arrive for their appointment, such as a patient’s particular situation at that given time.

Why do some eye examinations take longer?

Patients are seen for routine exams, specific problems, surgical and refractive care, chronic disease management, contact lenses and glasses, etc. We do our best to determine the patient’s reason for each visit before and schedule them accordingly, although it doesn’t always work out that way.

Some patients take longer than others to complete the necessary pre-visit paperwork. Some problems are simple and straightforward while others are more complex. Some patients require no supplemental testing and other patients require extensive evaluations with multiple testing. Some problems and treatments are easy to explain and understand. Other problems may take more time. Some patients prefer little to no explanation of their problem or treatment while others require more counseling and have a lot more questions. With multiple doctors needing testing at any given time, sometimes we have to wait for a particular testing device to become available.

CarlinVision’s Mission

We do try our best to stay on time, but please try to understand if you have to wait a bit. Someday it may be you or your loved one that needs special care and attention. You can then be assured that we will do our very best to provide the same special care and attention to you.
