About Dr. David Carlin

Dr. David Carlin, CarlinVisionA native of the area, Dr. Carlin left to pursue his undergraduate training at Tufts University in Boston. He completed medical school at The Chicago Medical School and a residency in Ophthalmology at the University of North Carolina. Having been away for twelve years, Dr. Carlin returned home to Gwinnett County to join his father, Dr. Richard Carlin, making CarlinVision the only father and son medical practice in all of Gwinnett County.

He is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and a Fellow in the American Academy of Ophthalmology. He is a member of the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery. Dr. Carlin has also frequently volunteered for the Lions Club on their vision screening bus.

His professional interests are cataract and refractive surgery, cosmetic eyelid surgery, and ocular manifestations of systemic diseases.

He is married to Heather, they have twin sons Jake and Dylan, born in June 2009 and another son Ryan, born in November 2012. Dr. Carlin’s hobbies include physical fitness, golf, boating and fishing.
