Dr. Allison Roensch

Dr. Allison R. Tyler is a board-certified ophthalmologist at CarlinVision in Snellville, Georgia, specializing in cataract surgery, eyelid surgery, glaucoma care, refractive lens exchange, and the diagnosis and management of complex eye conditions for patients throughout Gwinnett County and the greater Atlanta area.

A native of Alabama, Dr. Tyler earned her undergraduate degree from Princeton University, graduating Summa Cum Laude and earning membership in the Phi Beta Kappa honorary society. She went on to earn her medical degree from the University of Alabama School of Medicine, where she was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society and recognized as a merit scholar — two distinctions reserved for the top of her class.

Dr. Tyler completed her internship at Georgetown University/Fairfax Hospital in Washington, D.C., and her ophthalmology residency at the University of Texas Southwestern in Dallas — one of the country’s leading academic medical centers for eye care. During her residency, she conducted specialized research in multifocal and toric intraocular lenses, an area directly relevant to the advanced cataract and refractive lens procedures she performs at CarlinVision today.

Dr. Tyler is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and holds active membership in the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, and the American Medical Association. Beyond her clinical practice, she has participated in medical mission trips across Africa and Central and South America, providing eye care to underserved communities around the world.

Outside the office, Dr. Tyler enjoys spending time with her husband and two children, along with horseback riding, hiking, and travel.

Dr. Carlin is a highly experienced, board-certified ophthalmologist and Diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology with more than five decades of experience in vision care and surgical innovation. A graduate of the University of Illinois College of Medicine, he completed his ophthalmology residency at the University of Michigan before serving in the United States Navy in Key West, Florida. In 1977, he founded CarlinVision and has since built a longstanding reputation for excellence in LASIK, cataract surgery, refractive procedures, and cosmetic eyelid surgery. Throughout his career, Dr. Carlin has completed more than 11,000 procedures and remains at the forefront of advanced laser and refractive technologies. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and an active member of multiple leading professional organizations, reflecting his enduring commitment to clinical excellence and patient care.
